Key Highlights of the University of Illinois Visit to NYCU

The Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign—the world’s first engineering-based medical school—shares a common mission with National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in cultivating MD-engineers. This week, a delegation from the University of Illinois visited NYCU and held a seminar with medical students. Both institutions will establish an initial collaboration built upon their shared foundation in MD-engineer education. As a first step, seven NYCU medical students will travel to the U.S. for an exchange program this summer. Consequently, students from the University of Illinois are expected to join NYCU laboratories as early as next year.
